Custom Glass Awards and Engraving
The Frabel Studio has created commissioned glass awards for many world famous and corporate recipients. Nothing says: "You are special", as a hand created glass award of the Frabel Studio. For this reason, many organizations, such as the Coca Cola Company, the Savannah Film Festival, IBM, RBS Bank, Cisco and John Wieland, turn to the Frabel Studio to acquire or commission an exquisite glass art sculpture or etching.
The Frabel Studio is best known for its sculptural renderings in hot boron crystal glass of flowers, animals, abstracts and a host of other designs. Less well known is its work in etched glass. Here the artist is dealing with cold sheets of brilliant starfire glass, and is able to transfer a design very accurately from a drawing onto the glass. These etchings are all mounted in black bases which are suitable for carrying a plaque. Very often an etching is combined with a sculpture for a very unusual, three dimensional result. The etching is accomplished by a masking technique with the unmasked glass being cut partially away through sandblasting.
The prices of commissioned sculptures start at approximately $500 depending on the complexity and work involved. Etched pieces begin at $450, and will depend on the complexity of the work. All etchings are commissioned works and there are no stock pieces or inventory.
Most Frabel sculptures come standard on a handmade black wooden base. As an option, you may select a mahogany wood, marble or granite base. Our sculptures can be further personalized for your occasion by adding an engraved plaque onto the wooden base of the sculpture or to engrave directly into the base.
Receiving a Frabel Award is a special event that shows Excellence through Excellence, i.e. a hand created, unique glass sculpture for an exceptional individual.
