Over the past four years, 2.3 million spectators have attended the Tour de Georgia to watch 15 of the best national and international cycling teams race over 600 miles. Close to 4,000 volunteers have dedicated their time and efforts to making the event safe for everyone. Millions more followed the progress of the Tour de Georgia in newspapers, on radio and television reports, and on the web each day.

Frabels Hammer and Nails still touring the world

The "Hammer and Nails" sculpture, created by Hans Godo Frabel is currently on Exhibition at the Katonah Museum in New York as part of The Hechinger Collection, starting January 14th until April 1, 2007.

Jimmy Carter's Frabels on Display at Carter Center

From December through the beginning of January, the Carter Center has on exhibition a legacy of Frabels. Jimmy Carter was first honored with a Frabel during his time in office as the President of the United States with the Democratic Glass Donkey and immediately became mesmerized with the art of the Frabel Studio. This Glass Donkey remained on the President’s desk during his tenure in office.

Hans Godo Frabel Honoree at 2006 Meals to Remember Event

For the past 19 years, the Meals on Wheels organization in Atlanta has been organizing the Meals to Remember event in an effort to raise funds to provide nutritious meals for the financially challenged elderly. Every year, famous chefs from all over the world are flown in to cook incredible meals for the attendees. This year's event had a Spanish theme and therefore, Spanish food was served.

President Gerald Ford dies at 1993

On December 26, oldest US President Gerald Ford died. When Gerald Ford was in office, he was presented with a unique Frabel glass sculpture.


Chairman of the Georgia Republican Party, Mack Mattingly commissioned Hans Godo Fräbel to create the GOP symbol - the elephant - for President Gerald Ford in glass. The glass elephant represents the strength and dignity inherent of the GOP mascot.
